Right-click on the drive in question and select Properties
    Click on the Hardware tab
Look for the ones that under the Type column and list which ones there are for that.

I got this "ghost" dvd drive as well a few days ago after installing Nero 7 Premium. Dunno if it's related. Haven't had a chance to troubleshoot it yet.

Nero comes with some kind of virutal drive for mounting images. I bet it's related to Nero, but I'm suprised that it didn't go away when you un-installed it.

Take a look in disk management and see what it says for the drive.

Are you sure your computer doesn't have an SD card reader (or something similar)? Those will show up in My Computer as additional drives.

no he said it says DVD ROM which like someone said nero creates for disk images or something, you should just be able to search through the properties and disconnect or otherwise remove the drive

I've heard some bad things about Nero 7. Never liked Nero myself, though I guess it can do a couple of piracy-related things that Roxio can't do.
