I think the XD45 may be my next gun. I had a XDSC in 9mm, that I sold and got a Glock....I love both guns, you can't wrong really...if you get the XD throw some armadillo on the slide, and you'll be good to go.

From what I heard the XD45 has a tennifer type finish on it like the Glock, and the price of the XD45 is very nice too :bigthumb:

If they both feel good to the user I don't see any edge the XD has other than a marginal cost savings.

I can get a g19 in my hands for $487 and a XD 9 4in for $460. Even if there are better prices for the xd, $100 is what 1k rounds of ammo tops for something that will last for decades.

XD's triggers get smoother with usage. Mine's nice and smooth now.

I have to say out of all the guns I have shot, the XD in 45 ACP is right up at the top, and for me, the best yet. (that's why I bought it) If you like the 45acp, want a gun that's no bigger than a 9mm model, has the same exact finish the Glocks have and holds 14 rounds, then look at the XD. It all comes down to how it fits. The XD 45 grip is just like the XD9 grip, the Glock 21 grip is huge.

they are both good for what they are. I handled both and the Glock felt better to me. The XD may feel better to you. Pick whichever one you want, if it's the Glock it's a lifetime investment of pure shooting bliss. Buy an XD and it's a lifetime of tetnis shots.

    Tax/transfer and out the door?

Thats certainly better but it just comes into budget I guess, $100 isn't alot extra for a gun to me. If the XD's all came with the finish they're putting on the 45 I would think its less important, but short of that model I think its spending $100 for a truly better gun. Ymmv of course and I own neither...

both great guns, xd has better factory sights, glock has better factory trigger. I personally dont like any external safeties, so the xd's grip safety is a negative for me.

as far as grip angle, I dont know why everyone claims glocks is so extreme, the xd doesnt feel much different at all to me.

    just my opinion

the reason the xd45 feels so good and thin for a double stack 45, is because the grip is so damn long, so it allows a narrower staggering of the rounds in the magazine

Well if you like them both equally, then there is really no reason not to buy the Glock over the XD.
