I can't add an .m4a file to my ipod

I've used ephpod, iTunes, and winamp. If they do anything they show a bar like it's been uploaded but it's not on my ipod. What gives? Is there some setting i need, but don't know of? I used xilisoft audio converter to make it an .mp4a from an .mp3 and i can add the mp3 version fine. Any suggestions? if you want the file i'm trying the url is www.zanyspydude.com/fables_01_04_aesop_64kb.m4a

it's a tiny and legal file.

I wouldn't be surprised if Apple blocks .m4a (NOT .mp4a) files on the assumption that they've been hacked from protected iTunes downloads. Why not just use the mp3 version?

uh, itunes creats .m4a files... why would it block files it creates? If you import music (I buy all my music either on CD and import, or direct from iTMS) and all the imported music I have is in .m4a format.

    you're full of shit... again.
