I'm not really into trucks and really don't know much about cars. I'm looking to get something used with under 45K miles on it.

The Jaguar X type 3.0 is my front runner right now.

    What do you guys think?

I'm not a Jaguar fan. Since Ford bought them they look too much like Tauruses and Crown Vics.

    What about a BMW 3-series or a Mercedes C-class?

Personally i'd go far an Audi A3 - but that's nothing like the X-Type really...

    what are you looking for?

jag x type = ford mondeo.

i like the x type, but i would go for an e46 3 series if you can find one under 45k miles.

I'm a pretty big guy too so I'm not sure the X Type will be spacious enough.

I'm also thinking about test driving a Cadillac Deville or Seville. They seem to be pretty cheap used, but I've heard they are terrible on gas mileage.

    Any opionions on the caddies?

I know this is the wrong forum, but what about Lexus, Acura, and Infiniti?

I would say an M3, personally I'd rather have a Boxster though, currently looking at Boxster Ss in the 25k range.

Everyone I've ever known who has owned a Jag has regretted it. First world style, third world quality.

    I love Jags, but the X-Type sucks. I'd look into a 3-series.

if you have 20k , and are gonna get a used car, u should only spend like 17-18k and keep the other 2-3k for repairs that may come up

Cuz if youre out of cash, and your '00 3-series needs some work done, youre finished

Isn't the x-type built on the same platform that the lincoln LS was built on?
