    I am just now beginning to realize that Dave Hill is some sort of god.

    Not just because his stuff is awesome, but because I know that a good majority of the people here are really good photographers (like you, jcolman)....


    ... But each and every attempt to replicate his look has resulted in absolute, undeniable garbage.



    (and I say that, even being reasonably sure this is a joke.)

    I read, on the internets, that this is how Dave sets up for his style in a real world setting. Models can only be used once to achieve this effect.

    I find that a mixture of scalding baby oil mixed with battery acid works better than boiling oil alone.

    Plus theres a lot to be said for trying out as many different things as you can. It really lets you know what works for you and your style and what doesnt.
