Was left to me after my dad passed away a few years ago, I had no idea how/when he aquired it. I kinda had doubts on if he possesed it legally if ya get my drift. I took a gamble and registered it via the CALDOJ Interfamily transfer form. (cost me $19 but remains in my possesion) Took almost 2 months but I got a letter stating it's official registered to me. So My new pistol.

It's in .25 and completely useless, but so am I.

Cliffs: Pops died, unsure if gun was legal, registered it to me, no problems.

Why were you unsure if it was legal?

My dad was not the most law abiding person. He always carried this gun with him, I was 17 before I found out he didn't have a CCW. I'm pretty sure he bought it off a friend in the 80's, just wasn't sure.

doesn't matter, as long as he had it or it was made before the time they started registering handguns, they wouldn't know one way or another.

If by ftf you mean at an FFL then yes! Certain hand guns not on ''the list'' can't even be shipped so you have to meet someone at the ffl, and wait your 10 days.

I mean face to face transfers. Meaning you meet someone in a parking lot and trade a gun for cash.

no no no no no no no. That is a big pound me in the ass prison move. Unless you have a C&R and the gun is older than 50 years old.

    I knew what you meant...
my subtle attemp at sarcasm ftl....

I think only if you are both C&R FFL 03 or higher and the handgun is over 50 years old.

    All new transfers/purchases
If you owned one before it was required you're okay, but any crime commited with a non registered handgun is an instant felony.
EX - 1st time concealed carry w/o permit is just a misdemeanor here, but if done with an unregistered handgun it's a felony.

No way! It cuts down on violent crime! Look at Oakland/LA/Stockton/Fresno.
Since all criminals legally aquire their guns it has to help.... right?

    right?

And they'd never steal legally owned guns from people who choose to follow the law.

of course not, who do you think we are talking about. Other than the occasional disagreement with the laws, they are perfectly law abiding and normal.

Anyone else ever shot .25? It's like a loud inaccurate cap gun.

.380 has like 3 or 4 times the power of .25. I think .22lr has more power too.
