Newest addition to the XD crew with my .45. :big grin: I also bought a good cleaning kit and a set of eletronic ear muffs. I've been shooting a few times, and I figured it was time to get my own to have fun with. I'm going out to the range next weekend to break it in. Here is a crappy camera picture, along with some off Springfield's site.

Looks nice! Only warning I'd give is that most electronic muffs don't attenuate as much noise as regular muffs so if you shoot alot or indoors you might want to use something else unless you're taking a class or something.

  14. why does everyone think I'm krott5333?

I would say Ruger > Glock, but everyone assumes because Ruger is cheaper its inferior

Interesting, I didn't know that they wern't as effective. I haven't broken the muffs out of the package yet, but I thought there was a way to adjust the "volume" on them. I could be totally wrong on this one.

Good call on the addition of plugs, I'll take some along. Thankfully yes, I did get the case full of stuff. All I need is an extra magazine, maybe some trijicon sights (if I spelled that right), a good conceal and carry holster when I go for my CCW, and maybe a tac-light.

:noes: Hopefully I'll get to shoot a buddy of mine's Glock 9mm. He said he didn't like the Glock .45's trigger pull at all. :dunno: But he's alot more experienced with firearms than I am.

Dunno, I'm going to go shooting next weekend and I'll bring in the verdict.

You can adjust the amplification, but the level of sound deadening is measured in NRR. Good muffs or plugs are going be about 30-33. The average headset only block 18-20db of outside sound.

If you'd like to read a bit more I've got a little guide at:
