I have an oppurtunity to buy a Remington model 7400 in 7mm with a Redfield 2-7 scope for $300.. My only concern is how hard is it to find 7mm and what does WMD think about that round?

That depends on what sort of 7mm it is. Is it 7-.08 or 7mm Rem Mag?

Either way they are both good cartridges so far as I know, just depends on what you expect to shoot with them.

7mm is hot shit, being as it's a 7mm bullet with a ton of powder behind it.

Downside is, the Remington autochuckers suck pretty bad. I'd snap it up and use it for trade fodder for something else.

That is what I was thinking.. From what I am reading about it, It is the 7mm Express Rem which is .280...

    actually..... the 7400 don't come in 7mm mag that I've ever seen. Besides maybe 280, I don't think I've ever seen a 7mm 7400 period.

Gotcha... I was actually just looking at that and seen the 7mm express. I've never even heard of that round.

I dont think I can pass this deal up, even if i stick it on a website somewhere for trade bait.. Gunbroker has the gun going for over $300, and the glass seems decent.

Make sure you factor in shipping/transfer/etc. You are cutting it close.
