    Bathory, The Return. viking folk stuff, a little metal thrown in but its really a folk album...mostly.

    oh also check out Steeleye Span. get the best of album, I remember listening to that shit when I was really little.

    Checked out Pat Regan. I like him. Not bad. I've been looking for more simplified music. I'm so used to listening to all these melodies and beats.

    If you want to suggest a metal band doing folk, Ulver - Kveldssanger is a better suggestion. Only folk, no metal, and it's awesome.

    my brother likes rocky votolato and red house painters. also damien rice.
    but if you don't mind female vocals, try out laura veirs. her music is acoustic with some electronic flourishes. beautiful sounds.
