its kind of hard to explain, but when deadlifting.
The bar is on the ground, and i saw a device in Ronnie's video where the device props up the bar on one side to put plates on, looks kind of like an L shape and it pushes the bar up to slide weight on...

Anyone got links to buy one?

    Thanks :wavey:

bar jack (that's what I've always called it at least)

check EFS or you could probably have a local machine/weld shop make one pretty cheap

My gym has the most ancient and ghetto bar jack ever. You can only do one side of the bar at a time and its like an actual jack you have to step on or push down to lift the bar up.

Just get a piece of channel welded on to a long ass piece of bent barstock by a local metalworking shop.

my gym has one that lifts the whole bar up.. no 'jack' per se.. you just wedge it under and tip it back and it lifts the bar up about an inch..

:squint: That is pretty much exactly what i need. I dont want anything fancy..

It seems every gym has this style..so where can you buy it?

I go to school out in bum-ville, so having one made is no go.

oh, and you could always just roll the innermost plate onto a 5 or 10 lb plate, that would lift the rest of the plates off the gorund so you can pull 'em off the bar easier.

does your school have a machine or welding shop? if not, is there a tech school close by that might?

my brother's a welder, has all the tools (including a plasma cutter). I'm kicking myself like a son of a bitch that I didn't make him teach me how to weld.
