The whole reason I pestered Fazle to make this forum was so all the scifi people would come keep me entertained. Star Wars, Star Trek, Asimov, Niven, Heinlein, Gibson, Galactica, B5... It's all good.

I for one welcome our new trekkie assimilators. :wavey:

Eh. I never watched Voyager. I think I saw like 5 episodes and couldn't stand it. But a better way to not get assimilated is to build a whole fleet of Defiant-class ships, and replace all the grandiose, luxurious, wasteful ships with them. Then when the Borg show up again, blast them to bits. :)

IMO, the scale of the Galaxy class ships was their biggest problem. I bet the reason all of their systems failed with the slightest weapon hit is that 99% of their power went into the structural integrity and inertial damping fields, to keep that behemoth from crumpling under its own weight.

Starfleet was fat and decadent, so to speak. Too much wasted space, too much energy spent on luxuries and pointless rituals, etc. Not to mention arrogant - in both their military and diplomatic capabilities. That's why they got flattened by the Borg.

Shit, I'm surprised you weren't cheering for the Borg. That was the classic communism vs. capitalism battle.

The Borg > * . They are why I loved voyager. Every episode with the borg was awesome

Even if you don't like voyager, you should watch the season finale's that dealt with the borg  some of the best ST episodes ever if not the best.

Hugh the borg is the same actor that played Sofia Lopez, the transsexual patient in Nip/Tuck. My brother cracks me up saying Hugh's lines in the faggy spanish Sofia Lopez accent. It's the funniest thing I've ever heard.

I think my favorite villains on Trek were the Jem'Hadar. They were seriously cool. "I know we're all going to die, and I know the Vorta betrayed us and told you our whole battle plan, but we're always 100% loyal, so we're going to do it anyway." :wtc:

I have to agree about All Good Things... but they really did do the time travel thing too much. Even in DS9 they did it like 5 times, and they even turned it into a joke for the 30th Anniversary episode, with the time police coming to investigate Sisko for when his crew ended up in the Trouble With Tribbles episode with Kirk. :mamoru:

    Great episode, by the way.
