I was doing decline situps with 10lb over my head.
during one rep i felt my food flowing up and i made a noise..:wtc:
i stopped myself before it was too late.

I ate hour before going. is that too early?
should i wait longer after eating?

i think its the exercise, since you're constantly 'shaking' your body, shaking the food in there. thats my guess.

yes i can see a very obvious connection as to why i almost threw up.

my case is that i wanted to know if there was a time scale as to how long i should wait.

also if you seen someone throw up at the gym how would u react?

ab days i wouldn't suggest eating anywhere close to when you will be lifting, for obvious reasons

it was probably a combination of eating only an hour before working out and all the movement that happens in your stomach while doing situps. I personally cannot eat a large meal within 2 hours of going to the gym or I feel slugish and sick when I get really heavy into my workout.

it takes about 2 hours for your stomach to completely empty. however, there is a sphincter above your stomach that is supposed to prevent food from leaking out into the esphagus (as stomach acid will fuck up your esophagus pretty quickly). So, if you have food leaking out like that, it may have a problem you should get checked out.
