be happy for me... running with 512mb sucks.... i didn't want to shell out for the 2GB, so 1GB should be plenty for me. :run:

ya - the adapter worked perfect right away... i had heard some problems about the resolution being all screwed up - but it worked well for me. i don't know of any generic ones, the chances are pretty slim. i have looked around for one with no luck. i just installed the ram too. it was sooo easy, and i can definitely notice a difference in performance.

When you use the adapter, does the screen get smaller? Like the picture is zooming in... How do I adjust it so the screen stays the same size? is it because my Macbook is widescreen, and the TV's not?

OH... I looked around, and I couldn't find anything other than the apple adapter either...

what i did was to have the tv set as a dual screen so that each the computer and the tv have their own set resolution. my tv becomes 800x600. with this, i can open up my movie in VLC, and have the video be sent to the second video device (tv) and it's all good to go.

This is how I do it too, except I'm using the DVI-VGA cable and 1920x1080 resolution. But same principle. Move your video player to the 2nd display and go for it.
