    the 20" is great!
1 gb of ram but it could be better
could i connect my imac to a large lcd screen on the other side of the room?
i would like it to function as two monitors in a dual setup, is this possible or is the video card unerpowered for this task?

anyone else with an intel imac?

    My mom has a 20" iMac w 1gb ram.

I dont think the iMac supports extended desktop. Its only mirroring, I could be wrong though.

    Congrats on the new purchase.

intel iMac 20" owner here too....I love it. 1 gig of ram here as well.

I've also been curious about the extended desktop options. I don't think our ATI cards are underpowered for this task by any means. I just don't think the iMac has the option. I'd love to be proven wrong on this though. :x:

I have not bought it yet.
I was thinking about going with a Samsung or Sony 30-40" LCD hd
Any suggestions that would help me accomplish this?

I did this with my lcd-tv, except for the mounting part.
:bigthumb: It's awesome. You might want to get switchresx, though.
The tv manual should have all the correct specifications in it. :bigthumb:

make sure the iMac supports dual-link DVI if you're connecting to a 30" LCD.. if the pixel count is sufficiently high it's gonna need dual-link
