Anyone have much experience hunting this area? I didn't have any luck last season, and I'm wondering if anyone knows of any good spots to check out.

Well I dunno if this weill help you but I hunt mullies and blacktails in northern california. In fact, I just got home from a hunt this weekend. Opening day was saturday. The camp brought in 4 bucks and a bear. California hunting is getting much better then it used to be.

It pretty much just sucks right now. The deer has been over killed and as people going out hunting, there isn't shit. The funny thing is, last year when I went to Steens Mountains, Eastern, Oregon. That was the first time I have not gotten a deer.

Usually if I stick to my usual hunting grounds, I always come across something worth shooting. But all the land I hunt on is private property and we are able to control the access even into the BLM land behind us so we haven't had to worry about other hunters overkilling in our area.
