so last night i went to a bbq and had probably 4 or 5 beers over the course of 4 hours. didnt get drunk. got home. passed out. middle of the night i woke up to throw up and felt like i was going to die. my head was pounding. cold sweats. had to call out of work today.

now on a typical weekend i can down scotches and have absolutely no problem the next day. i feel great. im in good shape id say. my diet is on point and i work out a lot. dont smoke. why is it that beer does this? does this happen to anyone else?

4 or 5 beers over 4 hours? That's fucked up, one drink supposedly metabolizes every hour

probably the touch of the flu or some 24 hour virus. Not a hangover.

make sure you keep yourself hydrated

Agreed, 4-5 beers shouldnt make you puke unless you weigh less then 100lbs especially over the time period you mentioned.

Yeah I doubt it had anything to do with the alcohol.

Beer dehydrats the shit out of you, liquor to a lesser extent. Drinking water before you pass out definatly helps with a hangover but dosent eliminate completly.
