I'd like to see that. Maybe he'll give it a better ending this time.

I know my post isn't going to convince anyone to go out and read a few thousand pages of novels, but if you have not read the DT series, you are missing out on a great series of fiction.

It's a mix between scifi and western. My favorite was the 4th. Wizard and Glass I believe it's called. Talks about his past.

It's about Roland, who is the last gunslinger. Imagine Clint Eastwood from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. That's Roland. To sum it up in a sentence... It's pretty much all about his quest to find the Dark Tower because he believes finding it will allow him to pretty much save the world or revert it to how it used to be when he was a kid.

Been a long ass time since I've read it so I'm leaving out a LOT but it's a great set of books. The ending though... has gotten some mixed opinions. He even says in the book not to read it

All but the sixth book were really good. The last three all came out within a few years of each other and it seemed like King had a lot of good ideas but rushed a little because he wanted to make sure he finished.

Still, the comic looks like it's got a lot of potential :x:

I might check it out ... I was pretty disappointed that King's not writing it himself.

I thought the 2nd one got really really slow after Eddy's story.

I HATED book IV. The other 6 were fantastic pieces of fiction.

Anyway, you cannot really sum it up, but it's King's magnum opus. He said it was the Jupiter of his universe.

He actually "ties in" books like Salem's Lot, Eyes of the Dragon, etc., by giving those characters/worlds critical roles in the DT series. He manages to tie in all in all 20-30 books.
