Few retarded questions from a noob. I like the idea of buying an antenna and ditching my $100 comcast bill, getting a few major stations for free, and paying the specialty channels (HBO, etc.) directly. Am I limited by area as to what channels I can recieve for free, and where can I go to check on this? I'd like to have HDTV, do I need an HDTV tv tuner if I have a vid card with an HDTV out? Recommend a good tuner? What's your favorite free software? What kind of video card would I need for a good picture on a 27" TV? And lastly what sound card would you recommend? Thanks for the help in advance! :wavey:

you'll never get good picture on a 27" CRT tube.

    You need an HDTV tuner

You can't get HBO or other premiums direct -- you must go through a cable carrier, or pay for satellite.

you are obviously limited to the over-air channels being broadcast.

This will NOT end the way you want it.
