    ps: new to mac

what is the easiest way to save files as .html on a mac...or i guess what is the best program to use?

text edit gives me error like "cannot save with extension .html" and "must be .html.rtf"

    thanks.

in textedit, before you save, you somewhat annoyingly need to say format menu->make plain text (so it's not rtf anymore)

however, you should get a better text editor for html than that. bbedit is gold, IMO (or you can get their free BBEdit lite)
