I think this is going to be my next device, but the processor better not be some 200mhz bitch, and hopefully it will have at least EDGE built in. But wifi, BT, slide out LANDSCAPE keyboard =

OMAP is dual core and a completely different architecture than intel's xscale, so the 200mhz may actually perform as well as or better than an xscale at twice the speed. Of course, it could also turn out to be another Moto MPx. Really going to be a crapshoot because there is a low amount of RAM that cannot be upgraded since its embedded, however WM5 is supposed to deal much better with lower RAM because of persistent storage.

Yea i headed over to hofo to read up on it, saw the way that OMAP works.

I primarily use my Treo for voice, texting, emailing, and browsing, especially reading the news daily when I'm waiting around or what not. The slower processor won't affect me as much because I don't do as much multimedia on my Treo at all, which is what a fast processor is. Now that I think about it, as long as the phone is fast enough to render webpages with lots of graphics without any trouble, it may be the perfect device for me. I do love long battery life, and a slower clockspeed should help that :)

With HTC, no one knows. I'd say Christmas time for 600-700$.

Yeah, unfortunately I think that's their target buyer. The Universal is quite powerful, however I don't think too many people want to deal with its size....or ridiculous price [larger than the pda2k and twice the price]. Once again the power user is fucked....maybe.

    hmmm...

thanks. this one may be hard to resist.

if they could manage to squeeze a 480x640 display in there, i'd buy it in a hearbeat.

meh, they have to fit in the tri-wireless somewhere, plus the speaker and speakerphone. Anything bigger and the unit would be too damn big. But wifi, bt, GSM/EDGE, slide out keyboard in a treo sized device BUT wtih a larger screen is great :)

did you get the screen protector yet? Like I said, thats number one. Cases usually add too much bulk IMO, I just have a screen protector on my treo and no case. Been fine so far in 5 months of use.

As nice as it looks, and I am sure price will be good, it lacks the VGA screen that the Universal has and there is no mention of EDGE. I think I will still be getting the Universal.

you'll be stuck with GPRS speeds with the universal until cingular gets its HSDPA/UMTS network up and running. Wizard has EDGE. Plus, the universal is pretty damn big....

And VGA on a 2.8" screen isn't cost effective right now.

Who's the maker of this thing? Does a campany make it for another one for rebranding and sale?
