Does anyone know if there is a way to disable hot linking within a forum? For instance I have one thread that is a guide with pictures, but I would like those pictures to only be used in that thread. Will the standard modification of a .htaccess file work or will I need to use something else?

There's really no easy way of limiting the pics to a thread .. you could restrict it down to your forum and viewtopic.php/viewthread.php or what ever it is that your forum uses to display that thread. The problem is if someone browses to your post instead of the thread they won't see the pics ... you would have a bunch of entries in your htaccess files to allow that. If it were a single post thread you could pull it off ... but there again htaccess effects the whole directory ... the pics would have to be by themselves .. I'm not sure if you can get the htaccess to limit those pics and work normally on the rest of the files in that folder ...
