I've been thinking about getting a 55 inch Samsung 8500 LED TV, but the other day while killing time in Best buy they have a 55 inch 8000 LED TV with 3D tech and its cheaper but the specs are pretty much the same. I understand I'd have to buy Samsung BL player and Glasses which are 200 a pair!!! wtf. I mean if the TVs are the same on paper why not get the 3d tv even if I dont buy the BL and glasses right now? Thoughts?

By who? I just been looking at the Samsungs because I liked their products... I just started thinking about getting a 3D TV so I honestly haven't done much research. Does anyone make a 3D projector? I think I'd rather replace my panny ae3000 with a 3d projector if I could since thats where I watch movies mostly.

not worth it right now. no sense in buying into it right now when there are < a handful of movies, no games, and no tv programs

I would never buy a 3D TV that required me to wear glasses.

I think Sharp, but they're not even out yet.

I've seen one, nothing in 3D is really impressive enought at this moment, I want to see what Avatar looks like on it though

I haven't seen a 3D movie in years, then I saw Avatar in an Imax, now I know this is apples to oranges comparison haha but I was really impressed and thought it would be awesome to have this at home.

I'll go back and view the samsung again, I mean for price why not get 3d over just plain LED TV? On paper the specs are the same, just the 3D version is cheaper. I like having the option of watching 3D movies ya know? :dunno:
