I searched for hr 1022 while I was in there.
I dont know anything about revisions, but it doesnt look too good.
Has a hit list of firearms in specific with alot of loopholes closed up including 922 sections

1096 doesnt look like it will get very far. Only because of trying to repeal background checks and the handgun lock part. That and democrats can suck my cock.

step 1 pull wating periods and background check

step 2 classify all guns as gun and no distincitions

step 3 pull the child safety locks.

I think at this point we need to take small steps one at a time, muhc like the anti-gun crew has been doing over the years and not try and do so many different things at once, too many people will object to only one thing and will not support it cause of one item even if they are willing to agree to the rest.

He has an interesting list of bills sponsored too.

    Pull out of the UN
    Restore Gun rights
Stop supporting family planning (speficifally points at abortion)
    life starts at conception
IRS codes for money and primary schools
Tax credit for stem cell research
    Repeal the selective services act
Consititutional amendment to abolish "personal income, estate, and gift taxes and prohibiting the United States Government from engaging in business in competition with its citizens."

    1. keep background checks, which means there has to be a waiting period - however, make it easier and not more than 3 days

    2. classify all guns as GUNS, make no distinction between a fully auto AK-47, a Dragunov SVD, and a .22 revolver. a gun is a gun.

    3. keep child safety locks, but if they're gonna be mandatory, then the govt. has to provide them at no cost at the time of sale (shut up, i know i know, taxes, etc)

eh, i'm not likely to spend $ on a weapon in the near future anyway, even though i SHOULD get my ccw and a glock or something (and passport while i'm at it) before the dems change shit on us for the worse

Uhh, just because there are background checks doesn't mean there are waiting periods. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're saying. Does florida have a :)mamoru:)waiting period?

if there's a background check, doesn't it normally take more than a few days? or is it instant?

if it's instant, then fuck the waiting period, gimmie my shit now bitch!

Background check takes less than 3 minutes in PA. I think they just enter your d/l number into the telephone and they either get a yes or no response...

no background check with a gun license. just put the name on the paper and pay for it.

and that bill is going aboslutely nowhere. although i WISH they would classify all guns as just guns, then i could get a full auto ak :eek3:

Had this bill been one step instead of all listed at once I would consider it and Ron Paul legit. By putting everything listed into it at once though it's obvious that he created this bill strictly as political cannon fodder that he will parade to pro 2nd amendment groups and states to "demonstrate" that he's the guy to vote for.

Anyone with half a brain and some common sense knows that this is too radical to even get a co-sponsor. If he truly thinks this will go somewhere, then you have another problem in that this guy doesn't have enough common sense to be running a country, let alone be sitting in a chair on capitol hill.

While we would all love to see this bill actually pass, most of us know that political wrangling against a party that's so against guns is required. You have to take baby steps to get things changed like this in order to bring around the other side to agree with things.

Yep, this is the same bill they have been trying to pass since the sunset.

The one section in there is very dangerous in terms of vagueness that can be used later to basically ban just about everything they want to...

Just the standard monte carlo stock could be construed to be a "grip" under this section, therefore making ALL shotguns and semi auto rifles fall under "assault weapons" classification.

Then you have this little gem....

Considering that just about every gun made has a background as a military weapon, this one alone is the most scary part.

If you don't have your ccw then there's a 3 day wait for handguns in Florida. Long guns there's no waiting period.

Considering atleast the Air Force uses mossberg 500's and the police use Rem 870's, yea that is scary. That'd also cover 1911's, glock's, beretta's, S&W's, Sig's, and many more.

If it's going to be an illegal gun it might as well be worth it, right?

florida has had a waiting period for a long ass time on handguns.

The 3 day waiting period has been around since before the brady act.
