It was referred to the Judiciary Committee in February. Govtrack is not up to date on the status of the bill at all. Best I can determine, it hasn't been debated by the committee yet, and doesn't look to be scheduled unless they plan to debate it sometime in 2008 or later.

Really, all they have to do is wait for a democratic president in 2009 and then pass it through.

I took care of mailing the rep for my district, should I go ahead and mail the rep's from the other FL districts or would that not have the same impact?

i dont think this will pass with the DC gun ban just overturned... if so, hopefully someone will sue over it and get it overturned... or we could all just overthrow the govt... but suing is just so much easier.

the thing is, to sue, you have to be charged under the law. you going to take the chance of being charged, and the posibility of going to jail, so you can have the law ruled constitutional or not? i don't think i'd be willing to take that risk

there was a lot of bullshit going around at the gun show today, by the cops and dealers... one cop tried to tell me that .223 was easy to find, and cheap to shoot:)ugh:) and i said the fuck it is, 5.45 is more widely available and a lot cheaper at only 118 per 1080rd tin. he goes, yeah but its corrosive. SO FUCKING WHAT. he also said that dealers are jacking up ammo prices too.

250 fucking dollars for 7.62 wolf... thats just utter bullshit.
