I've noticed an influx of newbs at my gym. I'm no pro, but these 1 monthers are already annoying the hell out of me. Dropping weight, doing 2 reps then resting for 20 minutes on a popular machine, not racking their weights, etc. I'm only 5 months into lifting, my first time at a gym, so I'm wondering how long these posers usually last?

I know some of you guys are years and even decades in, so you should know. How long till my gym is cleared of these losers?

(don't bother insulting my 5 month commitment. I'll stick with it, and if that's why you are here I don't really care...)

cardio was packed, weight area was a little worse but not too much.

Most Resolutioners are afraid of free weights I find so many will stick to the machines which suits me just fine

my gyms normally pretty empty but it's doubled.

That said last night at like 8, later than I normally go I still didn't have to wait for anything.

    But yes no treadmills available.

I can't do cardio in my gym. Except swimming. Treadmills make me feel like a fucking pet rat. But you're right, free weights don't seem to terribly affected.

    .

It took me 15 minutes to find ANY form of a cardio machine open, and then the one that opened I had never done before [some weird running/elliptical type thing]. Although, I actually ended up really liking that machine so maybe it worked out for the best :dunno:

the ymca has not been busy...but its really never busy when i go. I know the exact hour where the crowd is at an extreme low.

sometimes I am the only person there.

read my other thread from yesterday.

Today it was full of idiots. Tanned, tatted, huge arms, chest and skinny fucking legs, no back, no calves, etc.

I loved it because I was squating and of course, no one was near me.

not as bad as I thought... the cardio area is pretty bad but that's normal and the weight area is crowded during peak hours as always but not too much worse.

Shit's absolutely ridiculous at our rec center... Weights laying around everywhere, preacher bars in the squat racks, DB's in random spots throughout the gym, folks doing ab work on the flat benches... Ugh.

I though my gym wasn't that was on the weekend but yesterday the shit hit the fan. I thought I was gonna punch someone in the face.

The first 2 weeks are the worst, than it gets better and by end of February is business as usual.

I couldn't find a parking spot i had to drive around the lot 4 times and jet infront of some fat guy driving a tiny toyota truck for the one I finally found.

Utter madhouse. Thankfully most of the people were using machines primarily and the others were curling
