Hows this cardio workout?

    You run each part as fast as you can.

    1 mile - 3 minute rest - half mile - 2 minute rest - quarter mile - 1 minute rest - 200m - 1 minute rest - 100m - done

    it works out to 1.7575 miles.

    But really, whats wrong with either doing low intensity steady state, or HIIT?
    Your plan looks like something a mid distance runner or sprinter might do for training, but i'd think there are better cardio plans out there.

    i.e. don't reinvent the wheel.

    the rest periods are too long IMO, I'd cut each rest period down to 30-45 seconds, or 1 minute tops.

    yeah that's where i was going with my question earlier. However if he was switching up the cardio during that time, with, say, jumping jacks or something, then his rest periods would be fine.
