A&P How's the Canon 28-105mm F3.5-4.5 II USM

    i wonder if it's comparable to the nikon 18-105 VR kit lens... aka a piece of shit

    I had one a few years back, it was a big jump from the 18-55 kit lens. The USM and MF ring were revelations after using the 18-55 for so long. Optically it was good, you just needed to step it down to get sharp results.

    Ended up selling it on OT to jump to a 28-135 IS

    Everything isn't about Nikon you know :ugh: :ugh::ugh:

    i've heard from a couple of ppl that they like the 28-105mm more than the 28-135

    yes thank you i wasnt saying that. but i had the nikon 18-105 with similar specs and price. just sayin'

    :dunno: Maybe they liked the weight difference more? IS and the extra reach were FTW for me, plus I felt the 28-135 was slightly optically superior.

    Is this going on a crop body? My main knock against those two lenses is that 28mm really isn't wide enough.

    10mm difference on the wide end and no image stabilizer on the Canon...I wouldn't say they're too similar :hsugh:

    yeah it is :/ oh well, i got the lens for 85 dollars on craigslist :bowdown:

    for 85 bucks, there is really no reason not to get it
