I'm thinking of buying fuct's G17. Fuct is in Houston. My brother is doing some work in Houston for the next couple weeks. If fuct agreed to it, could my brother just drive it out here (to ATL) with him? Of course the gun would be disassembled, and the slide and the frame stored separately. Would I still have to go through an FFL, just for paperwork? What are the laws of private party, person-to-person gun sales.

I do believe that a FFL is required for all flavors of interstate transfers.

Plus, unless he's giving you a killer deal G17's are dime-a-dozen.

I'm looking for a used 17 myslef, but I'm just waiting for an in-state deal to pop up within driving distance. I'll save the entire hassle of out-of-state internet gun purchasing for a gun that is actually difficult to obtain.

... Wait what? I don't think an FFL would have to be used, since the gun is being purchased here in Texas, there's not even a bill of sale required honestly, and there's no registration or transfer paperwork required here for private sales...

So if anyone asks, YOU bought it in person, and just brought it home with you
    ...

I could be wrong here though..

Only if they are both Texas residents. Fuckface is in Georgia.

Only on OT would you be discussing a firearms transfer between users named fuct and Dr. Fuckface.

hmmm... Fuck I dunno on this one... Seems stupid to have to use an FFL when it's not gonna be shipped or anything.

I checked, and that isn't the case for GA. You don't even have to do any paperwork.

Just have him ship it to your FFL. It costs like $42 to ship a Glock.

The gun is geared for competitive shooting, specifically to compete in Limited Class for IPSC / USPSA.

Here's a video of one of my matches. the stages are a little more elaborate. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWloyPYsf9Y

    On the gun:
    Dawson Precision Ice Magwell
    Arrendondo Mag plates
    Dawson/Heinie sight system

    Holster rig:
    Ghost Holster
    CR speed belt
    CR speed Mag pouches.

I bought my WASR-2 from fuct. Once the debacle with the package being returned by the shipper because the writing on the address was so horrid was over with, it got to me just fine. :mamoru:

I've always thought it was odd that the "practical" shooting association guns wind up all raced out and without real holsters even. :big grin: Not that it doesn't sound fun, it just doesn't seem more practical than nascar.

    hence, the birth of IDPA.

besides, even ipsc still has production, limited, and limited-10 guns. as far as those classes go, it's the rigging that's unrealistic, not so much the guns themselves.
