How does the Brahma compare to two 12in Sony Xploaders? Will it be as loud? I know the Brahma will have better SQ and sound better period, but I'd like to know how it would compare to 2 12's that I have.
I'm planning on getting the 10in Brahma this summer to replace my Xploads. I could really use my trunk back too :hsd:

well - you said it yourself.....it WILL have better SQ........SPL - depending on what amp you use, would be negligible though. :) a 12" brahma would most likely sound better than your currect 2 12s with the right amp.

Ok, so I get one 12. Would the SPL be close to the 2 12's with a good amp?
    Recomend me a good amp?

That I realize, as long as I can get similar SPL then I'll be even more happy. :big grin: Basically I just want to know if the SPL will be as loud more or less than my 2 crappy 12in sony's.

I'd assume that they are talking about the fact that all three displace roughly the same amount of air, and are all high quality designs.

In other words, the enclosure design and car that they are in will probably make more difference than the actual woofer used out of those 3 listed.

Basically yea. I'm partial to the w7, but that's just me. A lot of people really like the IDMAX.

Fuck both the w7 and the IDMAX unless your going indoor. The brahma is cheaper/great quality and does just as well in a car. My Brahma KILLS. No seriously! IT KILLS, and it isn't even powered to it's max.

I'd save the money and go with the brahma. If your stupid you'll buy shitty speakers, if your smart you'll buy the brahma. Your choice. ;)

(can you tell I'm partial to the brahma?)

    :p No... I couldn't :dunno:
I was going to get the brahma this summer anyway. What I have now was a temp setup for the time being until I can afford the a new amp and the brahma.
    Which Brahma do you have?

You are so partial to the brahma that it blinds you. Calling the w7 and IDMAX "shitty" is possibly the most absurd comment I have read on this forum.

    very comparable SQ subs,

brahma might hit a little lower than the IDMAX in the correct box, but the performance between the Brahma and the W7 is very close, the W7 is not worth the money

yes denim is correct. If you go to just about any car audio forums you'll soon learn that the JL is over priced.

Don't forget the sound is judged by your own ear, if anything just go around and demo as many subs as you can to learn what kind of set up sounds good to you.

to add to what ronin said,

well its hard to explain, but the Brahma has a very clean flat response, and in a good solid box it will do some great things, but you do not need 2,000 watts on it to get a lot out of it, in many cases 600 - 750 watts is enough to reach XMAX and have solid output from the brahma, the few I have messed with, we ported and tuned low, but I did hear a 10" sealed with a Zapco Reference 1000 on it, and wow it was very smooth
