I'm tired of all my ammo sitting on the shelf, its a pain to move and sort through, etc. I thought picking up some ammo cans might be a decent way to at least lump similar ammo together in an easy to move way. Are .30 caliber cans the right size for this though or are they going to be too small? I'm wondering if maybe .50 isn't more suited. Which do you prefer for stacking boxes of ammo in?

I have .30's, 50's, the tall 50's, and a couple i dont know what they're for :o the .30 cans are ok if your storing a couple hundred rifle rounds, cannt fit a full case of ammo in them unless its loose.

My dad has bought 300 or so ammo cans in the last month. Personally the 50 cal or 20mm cans are best for us, just because we can stuff more ammointo them while keeping them in the boxes.

I like the "Fat 50" but they are usually a little bit hard to find. The .30's seem too small.

They're extremely useful. They keep your ammo organized and dry, and it makes it easier to carry.

They're also useful for other applications.

I keep my paintball gear in one (though I've got to double check what's inside before I head to the range)

They're also useful for storing documents, or anyhting you don't want destoryed in a hurricane.

I like the 30s because I store loose ammo in them and one box is enough for one range trip. Maybe 20 strippers of x54R, a box of .22, and some SKS strippers thrown in for giggles.
