Yes, Air Assault school is harder than Airborne school.

We have the Lightfighter (Air Assault) school at Drum. Attention to detail is the biggest thing there. Then the mental challenge and then physical. For me anyway. Biggest things are just paying attention and remembering EVERYTHING. The hardest physical thing that I had to do was the final ruck march. I'm short so timed rucks aren't my thing. I ran the whole way and killed my knees in the process. All the tests are timed and they can be tough. Also as far as my experience goes, Air Assault school is way way more useful then Airborne. I've done a shit ton of sling load OPS while deployed. If you've got any more questions about it let me know.

All of your equipment that should be black, better be. Just use Sta-Black and it will pass first inspection. If you see a piece of your equipment that is shiny or copper, coat it with sta-black. DO NOT USE A MARKER!!!!

Quick question. I'm in ROTC right now and they have cadets go to some of these schools. I would like to go to one of these schools in the summer and I'm working on increasing my PT scores to be able to go. Out of the 3 schools we can choose to go to (mountain warfare, air assault, airbourne) which one would be the easier one to go to? I know I'll have to go to LTC (Leadership Training Course) first but I want to be able to go to one of the other 3 schools too.

Gotcha I guess airborne it is. I'm trying to improve my pt score as much as I can to get in and I really want to take part in one of these schools. (Mostly to get bragging rights)

Yea Airborne is the easiest. You should really got to MTN Warfare if you have a chance. That is a very very hard school to get a slot for.

Yeah but I got a feeling I don't have a chance. I have a 236 PT score right now and I'm trying to get it to a 275. I already the few guys that go 300+ are trying to go for it

I've never been to MTN Warfare school but the guys I know that did said it was an awesome school and pretty tough as well. Running is big at Airborne and all around endurance and rucking is big at Air Assault.

    FM 90-4 Air Assault Operations

https://www.benning.army.mil/wtc/wtc/b/aaslt/index.htm - at the bottom is the handbook that is very similar to the one that I received at the school and what you study out of.
