I remember reading a couple years ago about someone on here that gained good size by using his insulin properly.

Is it all about timing? PWO with meal? When does it become useful in gaining mass?

I ask because I got the 'Betes and take insulin all day long and it doesn't do shit in terms of building mass :o

i think he's referring to insulin spikes from consuming certain types of food at certain times.

yea i'm not going to mess around with anything. was just curious if it was something like "beneficial within 30 minutes of lifting", then I could just eat dinner sooner or something.

    reading the link thanks :)

so in summary general use is post workout and before you eat. so that the insulin "carries" the protein or whatever you ingest to where it needs to go quicker.

In most states, regular insulin (R) and long acting insulin (N) are OTC. But these are the worst choices for bodybuilding purposes. Humalog and novalog are available by perscription only in the US.

I volunteered at a diabetes camp before, one guy volunteering was older and told me used to let his sugar run high so he could cut weight for wrestling. Also mentioned some HGH and the main side effect being diabetes, since he already had it he figured why not use it.

from what I read R works fine.

  14. It does, there's not THAT big of a difference between it and Humalog. You just have to be more careful so you don't die.

It does for some people, but it's length of action is too long IMO. Something with a single peak is far easier to control.

it does, but its harder to plan around. when you take it you have 30-45 mins before it kicks in, then it isn't fully out of your system for 4 hours. Thats close to 5 hours you need to be aware there is insulin in your system that you added.

Humalog hits in 15 mins, peaks around an hour, and is gone 2 hours later. Humalog is a newer faster version of R.
