    quit iPhoto
move ~/Pictures/iPhoto Library to where you want it to be stored
open iPhoto and it will say where the hell did it go and you tell it
    ...
    profit

do you have to tell it where every file is though? or just one and it figures the rest out? if this works...

in answer to all of the questions, you just point it to one file (i forget--probably AlbumData.xml which is in the iPhoto Library folder), and from then on, everything goes there and it just works.

if you press Alt when you fire up iPhoto, it asks you for a new location of the library, or to create another new clean one altogether.
