So I'm having an issue with my EyeTV Hybrid, and (long story short) I can usually fix it by unplugging/replugging the USB cable.

I'm wondering if there is some way that I can reset the computer's usb subsystem (like they do in Star Trek: TNG) so that I can get the effect of unplugging/replugging the device without getting off my ass and actually physically doing it.

It looks as though restarting configd did the trick. :run:

I will assume you type configd into a term?

Actually I just quit it using the activity monitor. I guess there is some other process watching its back because it was restarted automatically.

EyeTV sent me a newer build of the software, but it doesn't totally fix the issue.
