I know you're not wanting to use the device you linked,
but I just want to add that all of the cheaper end ones like
that add a lot of noise to a recording.
If someone here knows of a usb cable device for that,
that would probably do a good job.

a standard computer mic, with a standard recording program will work just fine.

No such program/device exists -- the GSM band is nearly impossible to decrypt, to the best of my knowledge even the US Government and it's agencies is wholly unable to do this with any regularity.

Well cell phones have headset outs, so it's not too far of a stretch to
think that a usb out would offer a straight signal.

But I still say that the analog jacks introduce too much noise.

If you want crystal clear recordings, usb is the way to go.
If they make such a cable that is!:mamoru:

I know a few phones will record while talking on them, from there you could transfew via removable media / bluetooth / ect. to the computer.
