My car is only a year old, but I have noticed as cars get older, the black paint on the wiper arms flake off. Any tricks to preserve it or delay it?

Well I had a 1990 supra and mine were all rusted and flaking and i took them off and sanded and then spray painted them black....they looked pretty good. They weren't super shiny but maybe a coat of a clear finish would of made them look better?

I don't know of a way to keep the paint from eventually wearing off because it seems the car manufacturers put forth very little effort into prepping and properly painting the wiper arms. When they start to flake, remove and strip them, and paint them yourself.
