I just got a D-Link router and wireless card (click here and here) and I finally got it all setup and working after some driver issues. However, I live in a basement suite and the dude upstairs had to plug in the router. I'm getting terrible reception, like 1 bar, and I dunno what to do. I've tried moving my computer around a bit, but that doesn't do shit. Is there any solutions you can think of?

When is 802.11n supposed to be ratified? I'm already seeing pre-n stuff that's supposed to have much better range but there's no way I'm touching anything that's not based on a ratified standard. Anyone remember x2 and 56k-flex modems? "Oh sure it'll be upgradable to v.90." Yeah if you're lucky.
