How to get sand out of my vagina?

I made the mistake of letting my dog into in my VW wagon after his day at the beach. Now the backseat and trunk area, the carpet are all covered with sand. I tried vacuuming, water hose to spray out the sand, no luck. Sand are still stuck inside the carpet. When i use my hand to 'hit' the carpet, the sand will come flying out.

Anyone have this experience before? How can i get the sand out?

    Please help!

vacuum, then vacuum, then you'll need to go back and vacuum some more. unless you want to pull the carpet, hang it up, pressure wash it top to bottom a couple of times and then vacuum.

You also can use a blower to loosen it up and then vac again.

VW carpet? Sand?

Just get a new car now. Probably take you longer to vacuum sand out of that crap carpet than it will take you to earn the money for a new car.

I will never own a VW or a 1st gen Mazda 3 due to the shit carpet they use. Sand and dog hair are nearly impossible to remove.

    Truth.

Dry scrubbing the carpets between vacuum passes with a nylon brush helps.

i did, i used a pressure washer to spray throughout the carpet, the water came out flying in brown color. then i let it sun dried for a couple of days, then ran my hand over it, still found sand... :sadwavey:

i went to a gas station to use their big shop vac, still seems to be not strong enough

Replacement looks like your only option.

Unless it's black. If it's black you can shoot SEM aerosol carpet dye on it and never see the sand again.

If you can hang the carpet up, beat the back of the carpet with a bat or broom, etc. That might help you get some more the sand out. Otherwise, I'm out of ideas. :hs:

I'm the same way... I paid for all the gas on a trip to the beach a while back with a group of friends just so I didn't have to drive my car.

I don't understand how your dog could have tracked so much sand in that even a pressure washer couldn't get it out...It sounds like you're talking about the floormats, and not the actual carpet inside the car, since you said you pressure washed them so I'd either hang it up and beat the hell out of it for a while, or buy new floormats...they're probably between $70-100 from VW.

Trust me on this-VW carpet is absolute garbage. Pretty much the same stuff as in the trunks of our Maximas but not nearly as nice.

scott is right on this one. vw uses carpet for the whole interior that would generally be used in trunk areas of most cars etc. Everything sticks into the fibers, making removal impossible of everything.

I had a first gen Mazda 3 and the carpet in that thing was atrocious! That was my only real gripe with the car to be honest too. Good luck getting it completely clean. I was finding sand in my carpets almost 2 years after my trip to Daytona Beach in my MZ3 until I sold it.

#1 reason I didn't buy one. I drove a base Mazda3 (2.0, automatic) as a rental after my 626 got totaled. Very entertaining car, even with 148 hp and a 4 speed automatic. However, no way could I live with that shit carpet in a car I would be working out of.
