I bought a large wrestling mat a few months ago and have been practicing with a friend who traveled to Thailand to learn Muay Thai and some form of Judo. He has studied quite a bit of different martial arts, including BJJ. He's a pretty good instructor, but outweighs me by at least 50 pounds. I'm 6'0 and 222 lbs. and he's 6'3" and around 275 lbs. It's very hard to practice with him because he is just a big guy. I'd love to practice with somebody my own size, but all my friends aren't into it.

I'm seriously considering enrolling in a BJJ school to learn more, but I don't have a clue how to find one in my area. Any ideas?

He's from Ohio, you can't expect that kind of knowledge.

I've been to the one in the cleveland area. It's pretty good.

Where in ohio do you live?

North Canton area. 12 minutes away from Akron/Canton airport.

I mean, being trained from the late Carlson Gracie Jr should mean something in terms of knowledge alone. His background looks to be pretty good. I'm seriously considering this location. It's only about 20 minutes away from me.

Not crying. I don't have that ability. What kind of person is he? I want to train at a higher level than I am right now and need somebody who will push me.
