How to discipline myself?

    I just wanna eat right really. Right now im 6'1 257lbs. Im thinking that I just wanna bulk up first then try to lose a bit of weight. But I know that I need to eat right to see progress, but how?!? My parents are healthy at all really, they have a bunch of junk food laying around, as well as my co-workers. Also what are some good foods/diet to focus on for bulking up?

    saw some of that natural peanut butter at the grocery store the other day. Might pick up some this week along with another free weight so i can start lifting again.

    why not AznRyda?

    You need to have a real, tangible goal. You can't just think in a general sense, "I want to eat healthier." Write down some goals, in terms of shedding pounds. Have a goal for 2 months, 6 months and a year, or something similar. Write out some shopping lists. Bring healthy food with you, to work or wherever. Mildy annoying at first but you'll get used to it. Allow youself a cheat day or several cheat meals a week, and the rest of the time stick to healthy stuff. I guarantee that after awhile you'll find some healthy dishes that you really love.

    You'll slip a few times but don't get discouraged. Also, think of the ultimate motivator during those really tempting situations...Pussy. Namely, getting more of it.

    Do some cardio maybe 3-4 times a week. Start out slow, you'll need to build your endurance. Don't push your body too much at first or you'll do more harm then good. I suggest swimming as it is basically zero impact.

    If you're just starting out, I suggest doing alot of walking, and at the gym use teh bike because IMO it's the easiest. Walk your dog, go extra far, park far away when you shop, take extra time to walk somewhere close you would normally drive to (if possible). This will burn alot of calories, walking is really great, I love it.

    what about this? This isnt the first time ive worked out, i can run, and jog with some advacement. So I was wondering if it would be wise for me to try some HIIT:

    Minutes 1-4
    Warm-up at 50% maximum effort Minute 5
    Sprint for 20 Seconds
    Rest for 10 Seconds
    Sprint for 20 Seconds
    Rest for 10 Seconds
    Minute 6
    Sprint for 20 Seconds
    Rest for 10 Seconds
    Sprint for 20 Seconds
    Rest for 10 Seconds
    Minute 7
    Sprint for 20 Seconds
    Rest for 10 Seconds
    Sprint for 20 Seconds
    Rest for 10 Seconds

    I highly doubt you'll be able to do 12 minutes of HIIT your first time without dying.

    Ok, but can you do balls out sprints consistantly for 20 seconds at a time with only 10 second breaks for 12 minutes?
