I am looking to finally build a web site for personal use (info, pics of kids, etc). I do not want to learn html. I don't have the time for it.

Are there any good free templates that someone here has first hand experience with?

Besides firing up notepad, how can I do this?

I know dreamweaver isn't the most recommended program but I do have access to it so if I could just get a simple template I could probably edit with it at least.

Just use DW. While it's coding is a bit fucked up sometimes, it'll work for you.

Thanks. Do you happen to know of any good tutorial web sites for Dreamweaver?

I'll search google but would like some personal recommendations if possible.

Install WordPress or Drupal. Install a theme. Learn how to use the software. :dunno:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

    Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
    The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

    What you can try:
    Diagnose Connection Problems

    More information

This problem can be caused by a variety of issues, including:

    Internet connectivity has been lost.
    The website is temporarily unavailable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) is not reachable.
The Domain Name Server (DNS) does not have a listing for the website's domain.
If this is an HTTPS (secure) address, click Tools, click Internet Options, click Advanced, and check to be sure the SSL and TLS protocols are enabled under the security section.

    For offline users

You can still view subscribed feeds and some recently viewed webpages.
    To view subscribed feeds

Click the Favorites Center button , click Feeds, and then click the feed you want to view.

To view recently visited webpages (might not work on all pages)

Click Tools , and then click Work Offline.
Click the Favorites Center button , click History, and then click the page you want to view.

And I want a domain/hosting for myself, not through google. Thanks though. :wiggle:

 They hire professional designers and coders to design their site and code it by hand.

Not at all, sister. Dreamweaver was created for people who don't know how to write code.

Well, I ttried a few things since my last post but ntoihing really worked out so well. I did download one template that came with the PSD file. I edited the PSD file to incoroporte my info but wasn't sure how to get it into the index.html page :dunno:

How about designing it in Photoshop and them importing it into dreamweaver? Is that easier???? I just need to find some good exaplmes bcause I lack the creativity to make it attractive.

PSD is just the design. You need to edit the HTML file and incorporate your information there. If you need to modify images you need to modify them in the PSD and export them as a web safe format and overwrite the images that were already outputted in the template.
