I live in San Francisco
I would probably start by contacting the big studios.
look for ads
That would be fun.
Maybe try craigslist, public ads, contact movie production companies, or talent agencies?
down in LA there's an extra's casting agency called Central Casting. They might have an office near your area. its worth a shot looking them up
read above ^^^^^
Also contact the SF Film Office or check out their website. Usually they have listings for extra work. Craigslist is a good start since they have ads for extras all the time. Just remember that extra work should never be free. You can't use the footage for a reel or anything.
A friend of mine recently did that. She said that it was NOT fun. She had to do the same thing over and over for 12 hours a day. It doesnt matter if it is hot, cold, rainy or anything. She said the food was horrible too and the crew treated the extras like shit.
ive done it once
one of the worst/most boring days of my life
Let me guess, you sat around almost all day waiting and once your scene was up they did it 20 times?
