    If you don't know how to program... you don't know networks all that well. Or much of anything about computers, for that matter.

    You may be fine, but it will only be because you are average among many who are mediocre. Unless you can get under the hood and fuck around, you will never have a good understanding of networks, or computers in general.

    He's right. You can know a lot "about" Networks and Computers but without any knowledge, even basic knowledge of programming and programming logic, you really do not know how these applications work internally.

    The best network admins I know are also programmers.

    wow... at first i kinda thought it was going to be shitty.

    its actually quite good, i definitely recommend this guide! Working in the industry for some years now taught me a lot of these concepts, but damn I wish i would have read this 10 years ago.
