Hi guys, just wonderin' how you guys balance working fulltime and still manage to hit the gym everyday. I've been going everyday for the last 2 weeks or so, but it's been tough during the week. I usually get home from work around 7:30pm and go home change and hit the gym. Finally get home around 9-9:30 to eat dinner and shower. Sit around and watch TV for an hour and it's bed time.

I just wish that there were more hours in the day! I just graduated college too, so all this working and no free time thing has been really brutal.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

I usually leave for work at 7am in the morning, and I do take my work home with me too... Yep, it's hard for sure, but I think it's worth it too, or else I would go home and veg out everyday and be a fat ass :)

I was a fulltime student for a looooong time w/ two degrees, and I dont remember studying THAT much haha. Wait until you come out and start working... I used to think I worked a lot during college too. Now I'm missing all the free time. I still have studying to do for my professional exam on top of everything...

I'm thinking about going to the gym at 5:30am instead of after work.

:mamoru: you guys have too much time on your hands really.

I leave the house at 7am for work until 4:30...then I'm tied up with film until abotu midnight or 1am...BUT I have an hour to workout from 5-6 and shower and be out the door again at 6:30

You should only be working out about 5 hours a week anyways...

I get up and am at work at 7:30 then Mon/Wed/Fri after work, at 4, I go to the gym for an hr/hr 1/2. Then go on Sat too.

You will never have time to go to the gym, as there is always an excuse to not go... you have to MAKE time. Set that time aside and if anyone asks you're busy.

Yeah... the curse of being a public accountant/auditor. we leave work well after all the employees of the company we audit have already left for home...

I'm 3 months into my career and already thinking about what I want to do next. Basically, no personal life at this point, it's kinda of a bummer when you're only 23 years old.

the only routine I've ever been able to stick to is early morning before I go to work. It's tough to start with, but after a while you don't even notice. I find I wake up early even on days when I'm not going to the gym now

I agree. It is hard to get started but once you do its the best way. After a long workday all you want to do is go home and relax. You won't wanna work out. If you do it first thing in the day its fun and it makes you feel better throughout the day.

exactly...when i leave work i'm tired, mentally more then physically and i found when i tried to go work out i couldn't give it the intensity I wanted to. In the morning it's the first thing i do, i go to sleep looking forward to the gym in the morning, rather then spending all day at work trying to think of an excuse not to go

get used to not having any personal time. i get in maybe ~15 minutes of tv a night, usually when i'm in bed just unwinding before i go to bed :hs:

oh and i never go to the gym directly after work. i find i'm too mentally drained to go in after 8 hours of work. i usually go home, have a protein shake, chill with my dogs or pick up around the house for about 30-45 minutes, then go to the gym.

I jsut got hired full time at a local EMS station.... So that means every 3rd day I pull a 24 hr shift. :hs: Not too bad if I can keep my energy up by the time I get off shift on the next day. Still trying to figure that out

Yep I hear ya.... I bring 3 balance bars with me and I just eat them during the day. Or else you eat at 1 and nothing in between breakfast and 3 hours or so after lunch...

Eating healthy when going out to eat is HARD

This is how i'm doing it now:

    5:30-7am = gymtime
7am-8am = prepare for work, get kids ready for school, etc
    8am-7pm = work + traffic
7pm-11pm = dinner, kids, wife, tv etc
    11pm-5:30am = sleep

are you kidding? dirtysouthboy goes to school like 15 hours, works 32 hours per week and studies all the time and does homework constantly and still manages 1.5 hour workouts 4 days a week, plus eating 5000-6000 calories per day.

maybe you should get your life in order.

    I do...

I just think this thread is pitiful. 40 - 50 hours of work per week is nothing.

try throwing in closing on a house, running your own biz, preparing for a wedding, helping with elderly family, etc etc etc

i guess its just called life.

you either make time or you dont, but there are always times youll miss out. shit happens and you have to prioritize..
