    hello guys, my XP recently got fucked up real bad to the point that xp doesn't load up any more. my dad was fucking around with it too much, that bastard. so what i did was intstall a different hard drive with a fresh copy of xp on it and then hooked up the my old hard drive (with the fucked up xp) as a secondary hard drive. i can access most of my old files like my porn collection and mp3's ( :cool: )

    BUT as i'm trying to back up files from the old HD to the new HD, i can't access my brothers user profile. The problem is that my brother had an account that was password protected on the old XP. He says that he really needs some files bad but he can't access them with the usual
    My computer-->c drive-->documents and settings--> user name.

    i'm thinking its because his account was password protected. any way to get around this?

    take ownership of the directory first

    aye, take ownership, then set permissions recursively so "everyone" has "full access".
