How the shit do you lock OS X?

    In Windows you can do Windows Key + L and it will lock the screen

    how the shit fuck do yo udo this in OS X? Shift + CMD + Q does a force logout, but that isn't what I want.

    prefs>security, require password to wake from sleep or screensaver

    assign screensaver to a hot corner

    how is assigning a hot corner to your screensaver stupid?

    First rule in using a Mac...don't expect it to do things the same way as your Windows machine.

    That's what I do. Very easy to just use the hot corner and put it into screen saver mode.

    I just click my login name in the upper right and click login window.

    Dude, so easy. I use this daily.

    Option-Command-Eject or
    Option-Command-Power button if you have certain keyboards..

    This will sleep your shit, making you have to put in your pw when you wake it up.

    It's pretty much the same shit as lock.

    I still want my mac to work like a windows machine for some things purely cause it works better than the way OSX wants me to do things. :hs:

    then windows will be lacking some things i like about OSX?.... in saying that, both have their goods and bads.
    I enjoy using final cut pro, reason for getting my mac

    There is a hole on the locking latch to put a lock, I have a Mac Pro though I dunno if it's different on whatever you have.
