I'm just starting to get all this protein stuff down, and I didn't want to wait for my 1fast400 order, so I bought a big tub of mega whey from GNC. Even with this thing, a shake is only like 40 g of protein.

Did I just buy the wrong thing? Is there something out there with shitload of protein per servering?

I read the faqs and couldn't find anything on what is the best way to get all that protein in you. Help? :x:

However, I do feel small gains since starting with the whey.

Hmm, added this up on fitday really quick:

8 egg whites (large): 28gm protein
1 lb chicken breast (skinless): 138gm protein
    16oz 2% milk: 16 gm protein

+ 40gm of protein from your shake and we are already at 222gm of protein.

1 chicken breast acutally has more like 26 gm of protein. You can google search it if you want but a chicken breast does not have 138 gm protein.

I don't mean to be a jerk, but i'm pretty sure i'm right

Canada’s Food Guide to Healthy Eating recommends eating two to three servings a day from the Meat and Alternatives Group – particularly from leaner meats and poultry. An example of a serving is between 50 – 100 grams – and 100 grams is about the size of an average single chicken breast.

100 grams of average single chicken breast. so give or take a few for skinless.

240 g of protein is easy. throughout the day its 3 solid meals and a few protein shakes. (2 big ones and maybe a few tiny ones)

3oz chicken breast has 26g of protein, according to wholehealthmd.com there are 16 ounces in a pound. 5.333 of those 3oz breasts makes 1 pound (16 ounces a pound, crunch the numbers). so 5.333*26=138.658 or so. in otherwords.... he's right, more or less. but that's based on if you found a 1lb chicken breast. *shrug*

yea, between my 2 protein shakes.... 28g of protein a scoop. 2.5 scoops a shake (5 scoops a day), that's about 140g. a day just from shakes. then toss in a couple ounces of chicken, and i hit my 170g (1g protein for each pound of body weight.) no sweat.

add in the fact that i dont only eat protein shakes and chicken, you're adding in a ton of protein through the day.

Costco has 6lb bags of frozen skinless chicken breasts. I don't mean a single breast that is 1lb but a pound worth of chicken breasts. If it is too much for you have it for lunch and dinner. I easily eat a 3lb rotisserie chicken from Costco in one meal (probably about 1.5lbs of actual meat).

this whole thread and no mention of tuna? :ugh: I just had 2 cans of tuna in a black bean/tomato salad that I made and stuffed into a few red peppers then put em in the oven...~34 g of protein in each can of tuna. Just a little snack :dunno:

  22. I get 6.5 lb bags of boneless skinless tyson chicken breast from sams for like 10 bucks..

    Egg whites
    Cottage cheese
    Tuna
    etc
    etc

Just eat.. Sit down and build a diet before hand so you dont have to calculate all these things everyday, you can just follow the foods you have already planned out..

I eat close to 350g's a day fairly easily, and only about 46g come from shakes(23g pre workout whey, and 23g post)

    So in short:

oh boy, i didn't notice that,,,,,GNC is the antichrist. You can buy anything at GNC for less somewhere else! Please shop around on line or just ask these folks on this forum, but don't give GNC any more $ EVER.
