I'm playing Mega Man 9 right now and I can't even get past the first level. How the fuck do people play this shit without going crazy? This game is the reason why children shoot up schools in this world. I'm about to sacrifice my television if I don't stop playing this shit soon. :rl:

I don't remember having this much trouble with any of the SNES ones. Are all the NES ones this hard? I think this is the only NES-style Megaman game I've played and so far it's pure frustration and anger. I can't even get past the stupid fucking elephant with the pink ball. Either he starts sucking me in and I fall off the platform and die or the stupid ass pink ball knocks me off the platform and I die. Tried this shit like twenty times already.

It definitely was tough. I actually played through 1-6 before 9 came out just to refresh my skills and 9 took the cake as far as difficulty goes.

I was playing 1-6 on emulators and the save states were helpful on the wily stages, but the regular levels I was able to get through MUCH easier than 9. I never beat 9 - got to the wily stages and maybe the 3rd one or so and it was just fuckin hard....fun to play a new mega man in 2009 though, that's for sure! I'll get 10 and probably do the same shit...get pissed playing it but still have fun and then struggle with wily stages til i say fuck it.

The demo turned a lot of people off. That elephant part was tougher than a lot of other shit in the game - especially for those that werent used to Mega Man games.

I couldn't beat that demo. 9 is ridiculously hard. The elephants gave me a hard time as well. The SNES games ('X' series) were much, much easier than this.

And I agree with 'fuck the elephants in the 9 demo'

 the elephants must haunt some peoples dreams. Don't think I ever got past them either. NES games were fairly easy compared to 9. The X games were cake.

The first two elephants aren't hard but the third one is a cheap bastard. It's not even the damage caused by the elephants but the fact that you're standing on these small platforms surrounded by death-pits when you're on the third elephant and if you get hit by his attacks you fall off and if you try to dodge them you fall off. I've died way more times from falling than getting killed by enemies, enemies surprisingly take more than a few hits to kill you but i'm sure that'll change if/when I get to the boss.

Downloaded the game with a friend of mine.

Tried it all of 5 minutes.

Immediately determined that spending any additional amount of time on it would be an utterly pointless endeavor.

    Downloaded Braid.

    Enjoyed immensely.

Don't understand how people cling on these games.
Back then I can understand. However right now, the MM games are outdated and boring to play.

I want a new MEGA MAN X, CAPCOM

Mega Man X were some of my favorite Mega Man games and they weren't impossibly hard as well as Mega Man 7, though I never played 8. I also loved Mega Man RPG for PS1. :o

Wow I finally got to the boss in Mega Man 9. I never thought this moment would come. Weird how last night I tried 30 times to beat half the level and couldn't and now after spending a few hours with Comet Crash I went back to Mega Man and made it to the boss on my third try. :noes:

Wow the demo doesn't let me fight the boss that's really gay. Now that I beat the demo I wanna play more, I kind of regret buying Comet Crash instead of Mega Man today.

It's actually really easy with items and powers. :dunno: Some of the achievements though, no thanks.
