GUN How stuff works: Guns

    Im typing a paper for a how stuff works class and the subject of my paper is guns. I have already discussed the importances of the primer, gun powder, rifling, and recoil, but im still to short, can anyone give me other aspects of firearms i havent covered?

    if your talking about using the recoil of the gun to expel the old cartridge and a spring loaded magazine to inject a fresh round, i think i covered it...mabey some ways to expand on that idea?:dunno:

    There's different ways of auto loading too. Gas pistons, blow back operated, etc...

    I think he was referring to how exactly extractors work to expel the cartridge.

    Sear/disconnector engagement, any kind of trigger safety or out of battery safety, etc. Is this for one specific firearm or a type of firearm?

    Could always mention different types, single shot, revolver, autoloading magazine fed, belt fed ect.

    Did you discuss different twist rates, barrel length, right hand and left hand twist as well as polygonal rifling in that section? Did you mention the two types of primers when you discussed primers?

    How short are you? Do you just need to add some material to each topic you have covered to get to the required length or do you need to add a whole lot that would required editing the intro and conclusion?
