about 2 months ago i detailed my car with a g110v2 meguiars m105 and m205 along with nxt 2.0 wax. and damn did it really made the car shine and look like a mirror aswell as getting ride of about 90% of the swirl marks,

well abou 2 weeks ago one of my nephews decided to dry my car with a microfiber towel while i was gone. well now i have some swirls and small scratches in a few spots.

my question is how often can you safely use m105 and m205? should i use those or should i just use swirl x and ultimate compound?

any help please. also i have orange pads, gray pads and 2 meguiars polishing pads.

    scottwax need your help :o

If safely polishing your paint you don't actually remove all that much clear. I wouldn't be worried. I usually re-polish my car at least once a year.

You'll be fine, Jose (Superior Shine) used a paint thickness gauge when working on a car and while wetsanding removed .3 mil of clear, polishing out the wetsanding marks didn't not measurably reduce the clear. He used a rotary, btw.

awesome to know. i just wanted to double check since i had just recently done it and wasnt sure if it was good idea to do it quickly. by the way this is on a 2000 camaro SS so im not sure how the paint compares to a vette. is it softer or is it as hard as corvette paint?

softer in my experience. Hard to beat vette clear coat except for maybe MB ceramiclear or newer Porsches.

Not by much. The paint is pretty damn hard.
